WeGo, Titans to test bus service to Titans preseason games

August 8, 2024 09:00 AM

Plan allows buses to travel closer to stadium; provides ride to fans from Downtown

NASHVILLE – Beginning this Saturday with the Tennessee Titans home preseason game, WeGo will offer four bus routes to Titans games and major Nissan Stadium events, with convenient stops right next to the stadium. WeGo is working with the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT), Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), and the Titans to test the new bus services during the two upcoming Titans home preseason games, with plans to continue the service into the regular season this fall.

The east and westbound bus stops near South 1st Street and Woodland Street will now connect to several WeGo routes on major stadium event days. Westbound passengers can board the bus on the north side of Woodland Street and eastbound passengers can board on the south side near the Juvenile Justice Center.

Fans who plan to park downtown can also choose to ride WeGo to the stadium by boarding buses at the Elizabeth Duff Transit Center at WeGo Central or at bus stops on Union Street, across from the Metro Courthouse. In addition to lots around downtown, paid garage parking is available at WeGo Central.

“As the Titans kick-off their preseason, we’re excited to work together with the Titans, WeGo, NDOT, and MNPD to ensure fans have the opportunity to access multiple options for getting to the game,” Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell said. “Whether you ride transit, bike, walk, or choose to drive and take the bus, I encourage people: make a transportation plan that works for you.”

“Whether you’re hopping on the bus from Bordeaux, Madison, or East Nashville, or you just need a ride from downtown across the river, adding WeGo to the list of convenient ways to get in and out of the stadium is a huge win,” Titans President and CEO Burke Nihill said. “We are so thankful for WeGo’s support in helping Titans fans make their transportation plan on gameday early and easy to navigate.”

“We’re always working with the community to find ways to help people get around Nashville whether it be for work, school or to experience the excitement of a Tennessee Titans game,” WeGo CEO Steve Bland said. “Public transit provides good options for riders, especially when parking is limited.”

There are four bus routes that now connect to Nissan Stadium on event days. Fans should put in the event date to access the correct schedule for that day.

These routes connect at WeGo Central for transfer to buses across Davidson County. Frequent routes operate until 1:15 a.m. on weekdays and Saturdays. Fans can purchase a one-way trip for $2 or a day pass for $4 via QuickTicket, a reloadable fare card or phone app. Those can be purchased online or on-site at the Elizabeth Duff Transit Center. Exact cash is also accepted on WeGo buses.

This change marks the latest upgrade by Metro Nashville to better serve all city residents and visitors, from daily commuters to occasional riders seeking better ways to get around Music City. Titans fans in Lebanon, Mt. Juliet and other nearby cities can also once again take the Titans Express train service to attend all home games. Tickets are on sale now at TicketsNashville.com
