NASHVILLE – On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, WeGo Public Transit will celebrate Transit Equity Day with a ceremonial bus ride, transit center tour, and job fair. Transit Equity Day is a National Day of Action to commemorate Rosa Parks and other civil rights icons and to advocate for accessible, reliable, and affordable transit.
Events are open to the public and begin at 11:45 a.m. with a ceremonial bus ride. Participants should meet at Bay 10 on the upper level of the Elizabeth Duff Transit Center at WeGo Central (400 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.) The bus will travel to the Dr. Ernest Rip Patton, Jr. North Nashville Transit Center. WeGo Senior Project Manager Kia Lewis will give a tour of the facility and share transit stories.
Riders can catch the bus back to the Duff Center where a WeGo career fair and procurement event will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Human Resources and Procurement staff will be on-site to discuss current opportunities.
