Effective April 18, 2022, the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) mask mandate has ended. WeGo Public Transit passengers and employees are no longer required to wear a mask on our buses, paratransit vans, and inside our facilities. Masks are still welcomed, and anyone needing or choosing to wear one is encouraged to do so.

What Riders Need to Keep in Mind
When a contagious virus hits a metropolitan area in the way that COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) has, it's easy to feel apprehensive about using public transit. However, we're doing all that we can to make sure our service remains clean and safe to use for those who need it.
Immediately following the announcement of the first COVID-19 case in Tennessee, we increased the frequency of our vehicle and facility disinfecting program, with greater focus on surfaces touched most frequently by riders and employees. We're also working with our service providers, such as Gray Line and Transit Solutions Group, to make sure our regional bus and train services are increasing their efforts as well.
We're continuing to work with the Metro Nashville Health Department to make sure all of our practices are in line with recommended efforts to minimize the spread of not only COVID-19, but also general influenza and other viruses that can spread by touch-contact. In order to make our system truly safe for those who need it, we need your help.
As a general reminder to passengers, please observe the following rules while riding public transit:
- Only ride public transportation for trips deemed essential under the Mayor's Safer at Home Order.
- Stay home if you are sick or not feeling well.
- Please do not sit in the front rows of seats reserved for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
- Avoid close contact with other passengers and the bus operator.
- Minimize the time you spend at WeGo Central and at other enclosed bus waiting areas.
- Wash your hands regularly and for at least 20 seconds after being in a public place or coughing, sneezing, and blowing your nose.
- If no hand soap is readily available, use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or the inside of your elbow while coughing or sneezing.
Riders should also be aware that while our custodial staff is focusing their efforts on disinfecting surfaces, some trash cans at bus stops may not be emptied as quickly. Please be mindful of what trash you throw away.
